As a mother of two school-aged children, I know that having access to nut-free snacks and desserts is of paramount importance.

Not only are most schools in NYC nut-free, but I have many friends whose kids are afflicted by nut allergies as well as loyal customers who have told me that having access to nut-free treats is extremely important to them. As both a mom and a businesswoman who cares deeply about her family, friends, community and customers, it was imperative to me that I take the steps to make sure that my business was doing its part to provide baked goods that could be enjoyed by all.

We are delighted to announce that all of Eleni’s products are made in our own peanut- and tree nut-free dedicated facility. In addition, we use only the highest quality ingredients, and employ the most stringent testing, production, and packaging methods.

Our policies for maintaining a nut-free environment at our bakery include allergen-free statements from all our ingredient vendors as well as a “No Nuts Allowed” policy in our facility for employees and visitors.

To further ensure that our stores and Eleni’s uses environmental testing swabs to randomly and frequently test our bakery and both retail stores for the presence of peanuts and tree nuts. The swabs use highly specific antibodies to detect the allergic proteins from the nuts.
